Local Alpaca Farms Celebrate "National Alpaca Farm Days"
On September 27 and 28 five WNC alpaca farms will join alpaca breeders from across the United States and Canada in the 2nd Annual "National Alpaca Farm Days" by opening two of their farms to the public. Venezia Dream Farm in the Asheville area and Alpacas of Merritt Farm in the Franklin area will be welcoming guests on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm.

The public is invited to come meet alpacas and learn more about these inquisitive, unique animals. Knowledgeable and experienced alpaca farmers will be on hand to answer questions and showcase their beautiful friendly alpacas and lovely products made from naturally luxurious alpaca fiber. There will be demonstrations of spinning and other fiber arts.

And best of all, it's all FREE!

Many local fiber artisans and alpaca farms will be selling a wide selection of roving for spinners, yarns for knitters as well as a variety of hand crafted ready to wear clothing and household decor.
